The 26 in 2026 Challenge didn’t start the way I expected.
Early in the year, real life demanded full attention — not in a way that could be scheduled around, powered through, or compartmentalized. Family health and priorities had to come first, and pretending otherwise would have undermined the very values this challenge is meant to represent.
Rather than force a start that ignored those realities, I chose to pause, recalibrate, and realign the challenge with what actually matters.
This was never about a calendar date.
It’s about commitment, integrity, and doing hard things without sacrificing what comes first. Right now, that means family first.
It also means using this challenge for something bigger than personal goals
raising money and awareness for the Komen 3-Day Walk
which has now become a core part of my 26 in 2026 mission.
The miles will still be earned.
The standard still applies.
But the purpose is sharper.
It isn’t about perfection
It isn’t about speed
It isn’t about pretending life pauses
It is about showing up honestly.
It is about finishing what you commit to.
It is about aligning effort with values.
This challenge isn’t meant to be watched from the sidelines.
Please join us — in effort, in support, or in purpose.
This year isn’t cancelled.
It’s redirected for a purpose
